Denture Implants are an excellent choice for cosmetic smile restoration. These implants are offer enhanced chewing ability, comfort and are the next best thing to your natural teeth.
Implants provide your dentures with stability that allow you chew and talk with much more confidence and ease. There may be 2 or 4 implants placed in each arch. The implants have a small attachment on them that lays near your gums. The denture then has a receiving button that the implant will snap into. These receiving buttons on the denture have a rubber or nylon fitting that will need replaced with normal usage after a year or so. We can evaluate your current dentures and see if they can be retrofitted with these buttons, or we'll discuss having new dentures made.
Implants can provide you freedom from denture pastes and adhesives. They'll also provide the support they need to keep them in place while smiling, chewing, and doing your normal routine.
What about care and maintenance?
Brush and clean the implant attachments regularly using a regular toothbrush. Ultrasonic cleaners are ideal for ensuring that the receptacles are free of food and debris. You can also use a Waterpik® to rinse and clean the receptacles. You should continue to schedule and complete periodic checkups with your dental provider following the procedure.
